Yunnan Provincial Department of Industry and Information Technology and Precious Metals Group visit RESOLAR

In order to solve the problem of the blank recycling system of retired photovoltaic modules in Yunnan Province and accelerate the construction of a green, low-carbon circular economy system, on May 19, 2025, Hu Xiao, Director of the Comprehensive Utilization Division of Resources of the Yunnan Provincial Department of Industry and Information Technology, led a team and a delegation of relevant persons in charge of the Yunnan Precious Metals Group to RESOLAR to conduct a special investigation. The purpose of this investigation is to learn the advanced photovoltaic module recycling technology and industrialization experience, promote the extension of the photovoltaic industry chain and key technological breakthroughs in Yunnan Province, explore new models of technical cooperation and industrial collaboration, and provide reference for Yunnan Province to build an efficient, green and complete scrapped photovoltaic module resource recycling system.

Industry Background and Research Motivation








As photovoltaic modules are about to enter a large-scale retirement peak in China, Yunnan Province, as an important base for the national photovoltaic industry, urgently needs to establish a standardized PV recycling system. As a leading enterprise in the recycling of rare and precious metal resources in China, Yunnan Precious Metals Group  still needs to learn from advanced experience in photovoltaic recycling technology and industrial implementation. This visit focuses on the dismantling of retired photovoltaic modules, precious metal purification, and silicon material regeneration , aiming to benchmark RESOLAR and explore the efficient development path of Yunnan's photovoltaic recycling industry.

Enterprise Strength and Research Findings








As the first photovoltaic recycling company in China to receive venture capital, RESOLAR's 10,000-ton photovoltaic recycling production line built in Fengyang, Anhui Province has officially started mass production in 2024, producing a variety of products including recycled glass, aluminum, 6N-grade silicon materials, silver ingots, solder ribbons and junction box cables, with significant economic benefits.

The fully recycled photovoltaic module , led by PV Committee of China Green Supply Chain Alliance (China ECOPV Alliance), undertaken by Trina Solar, and jointly completed by RESOLAR, Yongzhen Technology , Flat Group, and Zhongju Materials, won the first prize in MIIT's Second Energy and Electronics Industry Innovation Competition. RESOLAR's technology of decommissioned photovoltaic module recycling and high-value utilization and Ningxia University's photovoltaic module supercritical recycling technology won third prizes.

With the deepening of the national "dual carbon" strategy and the increase in industry demand, the policy environment for the photovoltaic recycling industry is expected to continue to optimize, and relevant supporting measures may be gradually improved.
