On December 22, 2025, Minister of Ecology and Environment Huang Runqiu chaired a routine ministerial meeting, which reviewed and approved in principle the "2025 List of Ecological Civilization Construction Demonstration Zones and 'Green Waters and Lush Mountains Are Gold and Silver Mountains' Practice and Innovation Bases, as well as the Review and Evaluation Results of the First Three Batches of Named Areas." The meeting also discussed the "Guidance on Strengthening the Connection Between Pollution Site Environmental Remediation and Development Construction," the "Self-Monitoring and Supervision Management Reform Work Plan," and the "Technical Specifications for Construction Waste Pollution Control," totaling four national ecological and environmental standards.
