On November 28, Guo Yijun, Director of the Solid Waste and Chemicals Department of the Ministry of Ecology and Environment, revealed during a press conference held by the Ministry of Ecology and Environment that, roughly speaking, by 2030, the volume of retired photovoltaic modules is expected to reach 1.5-2 million tons, retired wind turbine blades about 500,000 tons, and retired power batteries about 1 million tons.

According to statistics, the recycling and utilization capacities for retired photovoltaic modules and wind turbine blades are approximately 2 million tons and 1 million tons, respectively. There are 148 qualified enterprises for the comprehensive utilization of retired power batteries, with a combined recycling and disposal capacity of 2.5 million tons. "Overall, the recycling and utilization capacities exceed the actual retirement volumes, so recycling enterprises often face the situation of 'not having enough to eat,'" Guo Yijun stated.
