U.S. Solar Supply Chain Accelerates Reshoring
2025-11-23
SEIA

The latest data from the Solar Energy Industries Association (SEIA) shows that the U.S. photovoltaic supply chain has fully recovered, with manufacturing capacity significantly improving across all segments.

Currently, U.S. component manufacturing capacity has reached 60.3 gigawatts (GW), sufficient to meet most of the country's market demand by 2025. Domestic solar component manufacturing capacity in the U.S. has grown from 8 GW before the implementation of federal manufacturing tax credit policies to 60.3 GW by November 2025, marking a 650% increase.

Policy incentives have spurred investment throughout the entire solar component supply chain, including polysilicon, ingots, wafers, and cells. In October 2025, the first U.S. ingot and wafer facilities began operations, the first such facilities since 2016.
