The Kyushu Electric Safety Association (General Incorporated Foundation), Greener Inc., and Kyushu Electric Power Co., Inc. signed the Consortium Agreement for the Development of a Solar Panel Resource Circulation Information Platform on September 16, 2026, with the aim of addressing social challenges related to the circulation of solar panel resources and creating new business opportunities.

Under the agreement, the three parties will use Greener’s system. Information on maintenance inspections and processing results will come from “SOLAWELL,” the solar panel maintenance service provided by the Kyushu Electric Safety Association, and the one-stop service for handling used solar panels provided by the Kyushu Electric Power Group. Using this information, the parties will explore the development of a “Solar Panel Resource Circulation Information Platform.”

Through this platform, the company aims to forecast the volume of discarded solar panels and the resulting demand for processing, and use these forecasts to build efficient reuse and recycling systems. The goal is to prepare for the large volume of panel disposal expected in the future and promote resource circulation.

Other companies are also advancing efforts to build information system-based frameworks for solar panel reuse and recycling. Rikashita, a company jointly funded by Marubeni and Hamada, launched an online platform in October 2024 that integrates the reuse and recycling processes for discarded solar panels into a single service. The platform conducts comprehensive performance inspections of all panels and offers sales with its own warranty. The company says it plans to further expand the platform’s functions, including developing a panel diagnostic system and strengthening traceability.
