It is understood that the "Kunlv" Data Space was jointly developed and built by Tsinghua Suzhou Institute for Environmental Innovation, China National Resources Recycling Association, and China Automotive Technology and Research Center, together with multiple industry-leading enterprises. Adhering to the principles of "authoritative and trustworthy, neutral and secure, and non-profit operation", the data space integrates blockchain, IoT, privacy computing and other technologies to achieve "full-layer traceability" for recycled materials. On the collection side, the platform connects standardized recycling entities and generates a unique blockchain traceability code for each batch of waste from the source; on the regeneration side, after automatic verification by data models, it generates a new traceability code with a complete upstream chain embedded for regenerated materials; on the utilization side, it generates full-chain traceability codes for final products, with all data simultaneously recorded on-chain.

At present, the "Kunlv" Data Space has completed full-chain verification for the plastic category, and is gradually expanding to categories such as aluminum, glass, rare metals, and textiles, with its service scope covering automobiles, home appliances, electronic appliances, packaging and other fields.

The official launch of the "Kunlv" Data Space marks an important step forward in the construction of China’s recycled materials traceability system. As more enterprises, material categories, and application scenarios are connected, the data space will further link recycling enterprises, regeneration enterprises, brand owners, manufacturing enterprises, certification bodies, and consumers, break down data silos across the industrial chain, promote large-scale application of recycled materials, and provide a quantifiable and tradable digital foundation for achieving China’s carbon neutrality goals.
